Snapshot

Wellness Program Highlights

Through our ongoing education and programming around what it means to be a self-funded medical plan, we have been able to decrease our ER utilization by 16% over the last year. In addition, we have increased our employee health center utilization by 11% over the last year. Finally, because of our ongoing education efforts, our employees have also become better healthcare consumers through accessing their explanation of benefits and utilizing the tools and resources through our medical plan provider. We have increased employee access to these tools and resources by 30%.

Most Proud of ...

We are most proud of our strategic and thoughtful partnerships. We have worked hard to build trust and collaboration between our broker, third party administrator, our entire HR, benefits and wellness team, on-site employee health, and wellness center to bring a seamless and positive user experience to our employees and staff. We truly want to educate, empower, and inspire employees to make healthy lifestyle choices by providing a supportive community with health and well-being learning opportunities, so they may reach their full potential at work and positively impact the lives of others.

“In the world of human resources, we often talk about salary and benefits. It is less often that those conversations include the benefits of wellness programs and incentives. I am proud of the focus Keller ISD has maintained on wellness for our employees and grateful that our district and board of trustees continues to support this initiative.”

“Better access to care leads to better health and this helps us maintain and decrease our claims costs. When employees have the opportunity to improve their health, they reduce their own healthcare costs as well. By having a health center on-site, our employees can easily be seen before, after, or during school hours. We know if we catch medical issues early on, it will save everyone money and improve their health down the road.”
