Wellness Program Highlights

As our wellness program transformed into a comprehensive well-being program, Fitness Place membership and participation in our FitWorks well-being program increased. In the past year, Fitness Place membership increased 8%. In 2018, 63% of Fisher-Price’s employees were Fitness Place members, much higher than the average participation rate for corporate wellness programs. There was also a 10% increase in employees who earned a FitWorks incentive reward in 2018.

Most Proud of ...

We are most proud of how our Fitness Place staff utilizes our well-being program to increase social interaction, comradery, and create a greater sense of community on our campus. As corporations aim to keep employees engaged, create better working environments, and improve culture, we recognize that our well-being program can help provide these benefits. While our employees can utilize our facilities anytime throughout their workday, we focus on programs that bring employees together, such as small group personal training and group exercise classes. We build camaraderie through partner and department exercise challenges, group meditation, and offer FitWorks points to employees who mentor or get a new employee to join the gym. We improve company culture by showing our employees that we, and the company, care about them through the programs we offer and the financial rewards they receive.

Chuck Scothon

“I am fortunate to lead a company that has a long history of investing in the health and well-being of its employees. Fisher-Price’s focus on the importance of wellness began over 25 years ago when those leaders had the foresight to recognize that a focus on employees' wellness could have a positive impact in the recruitment, retention, and performance of the best employees in our industry and I am proud to continue that vision today. Currently, approximately 60% of our employees take part in the wellness offerings provided by our Fitness Place staff. I am most proud of how our program has evolved and how the focused efforts made by our human resource and Fitness Place staff have resonated with our employees. The continued passion, drive, and dedication to help enhance the overall health of our employees bolsters morale and helps our company support our greatest asset, our people.”

“Our employees are not only the stewards of our brand, they’re also the heart of our business. For over 25 years, Fisher-Price and our family of employees—past and present—have reaped the positive impact and benefits that our wellness offerings bring. In addition to the benefits of physical well-being, we have evolved to take a more holistic approach to our employees’ health. By utilizing an online wellness platform and rewards program (provided by one of our healthcare partners), we have acquired further insights into the meaningful changes that can also be made to one’s career, financial, social, community, and emotional well-being. The data speaks for itself; our Fitness Place employee engagement is at 63%, which is a staggering 33% above the national average for participation in a corporate wellness program. I am truly proud to be part of a culture and team that is so completely dedicated and engaged to the overall health and wellness of our employees.”
