“I’m proud of Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to total health and am confident our integrated approach to employee health and wellness will be a key factor in our success.”

Wellness Program Highlights

Two of our health incentives drive organizational success and provide measurable results: 1) The Total Health Incentive Plan inspires and rewards employees for staying up to date on biometrics and cancer screenings. 2) Our annual incentive plans for employees support and reward employees to set goals and complete team wellness projects. Our regional employee well-being strategy group drives accountability and measurement. Over the past year, more than 80% of employees are up-to-date on biometric and cancer screenings and 90% of our teams successfully completed wellness projects.

Most Proud of ...

At Kaiser Permanente, we recognize the stress that comes with delivering care to our members and patients across the region and the need to build resilience in our workforce. Mental health is one of our nation’s most pressing public health issues and is a top priority in our employee wellness strategy. We are proud of our efforts to increase awareness of mental health stigma, provide Mental Health First Aid training for leaders, and continually build on our employee resources. We recently deployed anti-stigma cards and a guide to all managers in our region, making it easy to start the conversation, identify signs of mental health issues, and know what resources are available to direct employees. We’re proud of the work our leaders are doing to help employees feel safe to seek the support they need in a stigma-free environment.

Ruth Williams

“Kaiser Permanente Northwest is growing and working to create more healthy years for our members, patients, and customers. This requires our employees and clinicians to be their best in body, mind, and spirit. I’m proud of the way our leaders are embracing employee wellness as a business strategy and taking responsibility for their role—to inspire and lead a culture of health in medical, dental offices, our hospitals, and administrative offices. I’m proud of our integrated employee wellness group for eliminating silos and coming together to put resources, tools, and tips at the fingertips of every manager and employee. Being a caregiver is a demanding profession and healthcare is a complex, changing industry. Resiliency is essential. I’m proud of Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to total health and am confident our integrated approach to employee health and wellness will be a key factor in our success.”

“I’m most excited about the results in employee engagement. From improvements in our population health measures, to greater participation in healthy team projects, and more employees speaking up to share their stories, our leaders have stepped up to create a culture of health and wellness. What I find personally rewarding is when I hear from an employee or manager about a positive outcome or change they’ve adopted because of our employee wellness program.”
